At Pumicestone State School, we align the ACARA HPE Curriculum to deliver original and innovative PE lessons that focus on the importance of being healthy, active and engaging in our potential.
We focus not only on sports we see and play today but sports from the past and create sports for the future to immerse students learning and create a positive and rich sports culture. This program is created and delivered passionately with importance placed on 100% participation and successful growth mindset.
Athletics
PSS supports students’ athletic development through PE lessons in Term 2. Students may be selected to represent our school in athletics events such as high jump, long jump, shot put, discus and running events. Students selected for our school team have the opportunity to compete at a district, region, state and national level.
Swimming
Swimming lessons are offered to Year 1 - Year 4 during term 4.
Surf Life Saving
Students in year 5 and 6 participate in a Surf Life Saving Beach Program during term 1.
Team Sports
Each term a range of sports are played on a Friday afternoon for students in year 5 and 6. Interschool sport is offered to selected students in Term 2 and Term 3.
All 10, 11 and 12 year olds are also eligible to trial for District representative teams in all sports throughout the year.
