Excursions/Incursions

At Pumicestone State School we believe that students should be given opportunities to experience life outside of the school (or bring experiences to us). Therefore, we encourage teachers to plan at least one excursion or incursion each term which has a curriculum focus on content covered in current units of work. Some of the excursions that have been organised in past years are:

  •  Caboolture Historical Village
  •  Petrie Old Town
  •  Chinatown
  •  Australia Zoo
  •  QUT Science Van
  •  Twelfth Night Theatre
  •  Starlab
  •  And many more

Excursions and incursions must be paid for in full and parent permission given before students can participate in these experiences.

Camps

Each year, we participate in two camps with our Year 5 and Year 6 students.

These camps are designed to develop leadership and team skills that can enhance our student leadership program and contribute to developing the leaders of the future. All of our School Camps programs and packages are based on achieving these key outcomes:

  •  Leadership
  •  Communication
  •  Anti-bullying
  •  Team building
  •  Strengths and weaknesses
  •  Coping skills
  •  Stress management for students
  •  Living together

The activities we provide don't mean anything unless you have great people to lead your students.  Our staff use a lot of energy to work with the students to ensure that they deliver the best outcome for you.

Information about camp dates and costs is published well in advance to ensure families have sufficient time to consider their child's participation.
