Classroom Music
All students at Pumicestone State School have the
opportunity to attend a weekly 30 minute lesson with a specialist music
teacher.
Music has the capacity to engage, inspire and enrich all
students and exists in every culture. Making music involves active 'whole body'
listening, imitating, improvising, comparing and contrasting, practising,
presenting and performing, improves confidence and aids cognitive development.
At Pumicestone State
School, students have a spacious music room where they have opportunities to
perform, create and make music. Within our program students will learn about
the various elements of music (rhythm, pitch, dynamics, timbre), develop their
singing voice and over time in a sequential program, develop and improve their
music reading, writing and performing abilities.
