Student services and support programs

We are proud to offer a comprehensive support program for students requiring additional needs. We employ a number of support teachers who specialise in supporting students with learning difficulties and verified disabilities. We also utilise the expertise of a speech pathologist, occupational therapist, mental health professionals, guidance officer and advisory visiting teachers.


We work with local organisations to support students and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to assist each child achieve to his or her potential.

  • Enrichment Centre

    ​Pumicestone State School has implemented an Inclusive Education Program to ensure students achieve a happy and fulfilling school life.

  • Guidance Officer

    The Guidance Officer provides support to the school and its students in the areas of educational disadvantage, behavioural concerns and supporting emotional needs.

  • Levelled Literacy Intervention

    Levelled Literacy Intervention is a powerful reading intervention program for students from Year 1 to Year 6.

  • OLEY

    OLEY aims to help students increase their oral (spoken) language skills. The development of oral language is crucial to a child's literacy development, including listening, speaking, reading and writing

  • School Chaplain

    Chaplaincy Services provide ethical, spiritual and personal support to school communities.

  • Speech Language Pathologist

    At Pumicestone SS we have a Speech Language Pathologist, Ms Dimity Darr who works here 3 days a fortnight.
